Pool D: Argentina without worries
Argentina, Cuba, Germany and Poland are playing in the pool D. Argentina will host this year’s finals so coach Javier Weber decided to give a chance to play to some less experienced players.
Rivalry between Cuba, Germany and Poland should bring much adrenaline to the fans of volleyball. Cuba got something to prove. Last year after the very good performance in the whole competition they lost the 3rd place with Russia and finished the World League on the 4th place. For sure this year guys of Orlando Samuels Blackood want to achieve something more and win the medal.
Also Germany got something to prove. Team coached by Raul Lozano comes back to the World League competition after six years of break so they are extremely motivated. Unfortunately, one of the key players of this team, Simon Tischer got injured and won’t be able to play for a couple of weeks.
Last but not least Poland got opportunity to win the group and get promoted to the final tournament after the short break. Guys of Daniel Castellani showed their will to fight and strong technical skills last weekend during the sparing with France. Castellani continues his idea to connect experience with youth and we will see young setter Grzegorz Lomacz and talented middle blocker Patryk Czarnowski apart from experienced players like Lukasz Zygadlo. Unfortunately Poland will be playing without its megastar Pawel Zagumny.
