Cody Rhodes Turns Down WWE, Ospreay vs. Ibushi at WK, WOW Trailer

Just a couple of months ago, wrestling fans could not help but speculate over whether or not The Elite would be joining WWE in 2019. It is common knowledge that the group will be free agents in early 2019, and they are all wrapping up their commitments with Ring of Honor at the moment. However, The Elite’s Cody Rhodes has just revealed that he turned down an offer from WWE to return to the company a few weeks ago. During an appearance on Something to Wrestle With Bruce Prichard, Rhodes informed fans that he won’t be returning to WWE, but given the success of his All In event from earlier in the year, Cody knows that there are fans who are eager to see alternatives to WWE, which he is hoping to help provide in the future.
Will Ospreay is already slated to be part of some huge matches early next year. Ospreay will be taking on former WWE Superstar Neville (aka PAC) in what some fans are calling a “dream match,” but Ospreay will now also be featured on Wrestle Kingdom in January. During the World Tag League finals, Kota Ibushi became the new NEVER Champion in New Japan Pro Wrestling when he defeated Hirooki Goto. Also on that same show, Will Ospreay secured his spot as the number one contender for Ibushi’s newly-won title. As a result, the two of them are now set to do battle for the championship at NJPW’s Wrestle Kingdom event. Wrestle Kingdom will once again be held in the Tokyo Dome on January 4th.

A new promotion headed by the members of The Elite may be coming in 2019. Fans are anticipating the release of more information on the rumored All Elite Wrestling promotion, which was said to be airing on AXS TV at one point. However, some may have forgotten that there will be another wrestling promotion debuting on AXS next year. A new and official trailer for the upcoming Women of Wrestling season has just been released by AXS. The series joins New Japan Pro Wrestling as the only wrestling programs on the network, and it will exclusively feature the best female competitors in the world today. It has also been confirmed now that Women of Wrestling will be premiering on AXS on January 18th, 2019.

From the founder of the ’80s hit TV series and cult classic GLOW (Gorgeous Ladies Of Wrestling), comes “WOW-Women Of Wrestling” (WOW) – the only nationally televised all-female professional wrestling series. Coming Friday, January 18th to AXS TV! ?????? #womenofwrestling
