A video showing highlights from last week’s Raw 1000 plays.
WWE Champion CM Punk comes out and heads to the ring to address the fans about his actions last week.
WrestleMania moments are what most everybody in the lock room talks about. They want their WrestleMania moment. Last week, he had himself a Raw moment. It was a moment bigger than most people’s WrestleMania moments, but before he explains why he did what he did, he wants to shed some light on something. He wants to bring to their attention the way Raw 1000 went off the air. It left a bad taste in his mouth. It was left with Jerry Lawler saying “CM Punk has turned his back on the WWE Universe”.
Punk looks over at Jerry and exits the ring. He walks over to him and sits Indian style on the announce table.
He doesn’t get it. He’s used to dramatic hyperbole on commentary, but that was horrible even for him. How does he jump to such a conclusion? If anything, it was him who turned his back on Punk because last he checked Rock was not the WWE Universe. The Rock is one single solitary man. He’s a larger than life extremely charismatic delusional movie star who came in and showed him, the WWE Champion, and incredible lack of respect. First, he interrupted him which nobody should ever do. And then he went into his entire stick with Daniel Bryan, and he was almost invisible to him. Then when he did what he imagines is “lowering himself” by saying he’s gifted with a WWE Championship match at the Royal Rumble, and he acts like he can just take his title? The lack of respect he showed him is the same lack he showed at the end of the show. He’s lucky he didn’t hurt him before. Then at the end of the night Dwayne tries to make Raw 1000 all about him. And that’s exactly when he showed him the kind of man he’s dealing with come Rumble. This is not a popularity contest, this is not ballet. This is the WWE, and he is their champion. Understand, Jerry? We have heard from Rock in a week which is funny cause he couldn’t shut up with Cena. Now Rock found his silence and he knows what that means. So when it comes to Jerry’s agenda and however he wants to spin it, he can say what he did or didn’t do to Cena. The 1000th episode ended the same way every episode of Raw should end: with the focus and spotlight on the WWE champion, the best wrestler in the world.
The Big Show comes out and heads down to the ring. Punk heads back into the ring.
Punk says to turn the music off. He came to steal the spotlight too, huh?
That’s not hard to do. Technically, he’s right. The end of Raw 1000, the focus was on him a little bit. But history will prove that the end of Raw 1000 was all about him. Boo if they want to, but think about the facts. He’s the one that cost Cena the WWE title. He is the one that made Cena the first man in history to cash in a Money in the Bank contract and lose. And Punk…he’s supposedly the best in the world? He knocked out John Cena and he STILL couldn’t beat him. Matter of fact, he wound up in the STF and would’ve tapped out if he didn’t do what he did. Matter of fact, the only reason he’s still WWE Champion is because of him.
Cena vowed he wouldn’t win Money in the Bank. And I vowed Cena wouldn’t win his WWE title match. He’s gonna make another vow. He vows that he’ll be the next WWE Champion.
HE’S gonna be the WWE Champion? He couldn’t beat Cena at No Way Out, he couldn’t secure a briefcase, hell between the two of them the only one winning around here is him.
John Cena comes out and runs into the ring. He attacks Show and punches him into the ropes. Show shoves him back and exits the ring. Punk just watches as Cena yells at Show to get back in the ring. Show backs up and retreats.
