This was the fourth match between the two in a rivalry dating back to last July, when Callihan defeated Blanchard in the main event of Impact’s annual Slammiversary pay-per-view. The two faced off again in August at Unbreakable, with the “Callihan Death Machine” once again scoring the win.

Blanchard’s monumental win came after more than 24 hours of controversy surrounding Blanchard, who was accused by numerous wrestlers throughout the company – including names from WWE, AEW and the NWA – of bullying her fellow performers as well as an incident where she allegedly used a racial slur against a person of color.

She did not speak with members of the media before or after Sunday’s show, despite winning the title and several organized media opportunities throughout the weekend in Texas. Thus far her only official statement on the matter has been a tweet calling the accusations “ridiculous”.

While we have reached out to Impact Wrestling multiple times, as have several other outlets, the company has opted not to comment on the mater publicly.
