Chris Jericho Comes to the Defense of Marko Stunt After AEW Dynamite Match
AEW World Champion Chris Jericho posted the following in a series of Tweets this week, defending those who complained about Marko Stunt wrestling in the tag team tournament match this past Wednesday night on AEW Dynamite.
“Laughing at [people]complaining that Marko Stunt is too small & a ‘disgrace to pro wrestling!’ Funny thing is I thought the same thing about Rey Mysterio the first time I met him in 93. I also saw The Ultimo Dragon get REAMED out by his boss when he first brought Rey to Japan in 95. Dean Malenko got laughed out of WCW locker room when he stood up for Rey before their first match in Aug 96. Times have changed and Marko IS small. But most of the workers on the roster are smaller in 2019 then the 90s. Bottom line, over is over and Marko did a good job getting over on [Wednesday]. Whether he ends up a World Champion like Rey did remains to be seen… but I’d rather watch him than a 6’8 muscle head who can’t move.”
