Kenny Omega Sends Warning to Tama Tonga & Bullet Club OGz, Kota Ibushi Conflicted Heading Into Finals (Video)
As noted, New Japan Pro Wrestling has issued a warning to members of the Bullet Club OG – Tama Tonga, Tanga Loa and Bad Luck Fale – concerning their rampant interference and disrespectful behavior throughout this year’s G1 Climax tournament.
Should any part of the group attempt to interfere in Saturday’s B Block Finals bout between IWGP Heavyweight Champion Kenny Omega and his partner Kota Ibushi, a highly anticipated match many years in the making, they will be suspended immediately for three months, and fined an undisclosed amount.
Following Friday’s G1 show at the historic Nippon Budokan in Tokyo, both Omega and Ibushi had the chance to speak to members of the media, just moments after yet another attack at the hands of the Bullet Club OGz. The IWGP champion was not happy about yet another bout of outside interference, and issued a stern warning to the faction defectors, who have all made it pretty clear they have no intention of letting this potential Match of the Year candidate go off without a hitch.
“We are trying to clean up our image. Our image is important to us, it’s important to the company and it’s important to professional wrestling. What Tama Tonga and Fale have been doing, on a nightly basis, it not only sullies the image of NJPW, it not only sullies the image of Bullet Club and Bullet Club OG, it sullies the name of everything that Japan stands for. I feel bad for everyone that took the time out of their day, paid money out of their pockets to see what they just saw.”
“Tomorrow, I swear to goodness gracious that if you try to ruin my match, things are going to get real ugly. I’m begging you, I’m pleading with New Japan, let us settle this. Tomorrow it’s not about you – it never was. You’re not in our league. Tomorrow is about the G1, about tradition, and what’s going to be the best bout – Kota Ibushi vs. Kenny Omega. You’re not going to spoil it, I won’t let you.”
While Omega seemed completely concentrated on the match itself, and just wants to steal the show with his best friend and Golden Lover, Ibushi was characteristically a bit more conflicted in his outlook. It was very clear that the Japanese sensation would love to find a way out of wrestling his closest confidant.

“We are in this situation now, even though we don’t want to face each other, we have to. It’s a lot. I can’t put this feeling into words. That’s just it. Yes, I can’t go to the final if I don’t win. And even a win doesn’t guarantee it. Whatever the case, I just have to win. But the feelings on that are complicated. Even though this is difficult, I still have to do it.”
Finally, Ibushi was simply asked if he is looking forward to his upcoming match against Omega. The Golden Star seemed to ponder his response momentarily, before admitting, “I hope tomorrow never comes.”
