Wendy’s Takes Shot at Ronda Rousey’s Royal Rumble Debut, Sami Zayn Blames Fans For MMC Loss (Video)

Wendy’s Takes Shot at Ronda Rousey

We’ve known for a few years now that Wendy’s is the king of fast food social media, especially when it comes to witty, pro-wrestling-related quips. No disrespect to Little Caesars, and I appreciate being one of the 600 people you follow as I am clearly a very important person, but Wendy’s has had us all beat for a long time…

Their most recent zing came at the expense of Ronda Rousey, who of course made her presence felt at last weekend’s WWE Royal Rumble pay-per-view following the main event – a historic, first time ever Women’s Royal Rumble match. When asked why Wendy’s didn’t enter the bout, their official Twitter account quickly responded, “We heard we could just show up later and point at the mania sign”. The UFC icon has received a fair amount of heat from a subsection of wrestling fans, angry that she “stole the moment” from Rumble winner Asuka, and the full-time WWE women’s division as a whole.

Much like their double stacks, Wendy’s social media game is FIRE.

Sami Zayn Blames Fans for MMC Loss

As noted, Sami Zayn and Becky Lynch lost their first round WWE Mixed Match Challenge match on Tuesday night, unable to overcome the power and strategy of the “Monster Among Men” Braun Strowman and Raw Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss. After the bout, the Smackdown duo caught up backstage to discuss what went wrong, and unsurprisingly Sami had a lot of blame to go around – just none for himself. Check out the video below.

We had victory all but assured…until the WWE fans in attendance and a local Philadelphia bakery let us down.
